In the fifth match of the ongoing Cricplex Kalinga Cup, the Sonnet club registered a massive 10-wicket victory over the LB Shastri team. Sanath Sangwan composed a brilliant hundred and Krishmann also scored an unbeaten 60 runs to help the Sonnet side reach the target of 191 runs in 34.2 overs.
Sonnet won the toss and opted to field first at the turf green ground in Baliyawas. LB Shastri side never got off to the best of starts losing both their openers, Sanskar Bhati and Aditya Rai were dismissed quite early. However, the middle-order batsmen troika of Kabir Walia, Aditya Singh and Pramukh Gaur made some decent contributions to help their team build a strong foundation for a challenging total.
Aditya Singh played a fine innings of 45 runs off 64 balls that included 4 fours and 1 six. Kabir Walia scored 31 runs off 48 balls and Pramukh Gaur scored 33 runs off 50 balls. Towards the end, Aniket Lohia contributed with a crucial cameo of 26 runs off 24 balls that propelled the LB Shastri to finish with 190 runs on the board in 45.4 overs. For the Sonnet club, Kunal Sharma bowled very well to pick four wickets while Avinash David grabbed two scalps.
In the second innings, Sonnet got off to a sensational start as their two opening batsmen, Sanath Sangwan and Krishmann came out with a pretty clear and positive mindset. The opening duo showed remarkable composure and temperament to keep the opposition bowlers at bay. Both Sangwan and Krishmann kept rotating the strike really nicely and they were also racking up boundaries on regular basis.
Sangwan and Krishmann stitched a spectacular match-winning partnership of 191 runs that helped the Sonnet club to win the match in just 34.2 overs. Sangwan played an impressive unbeaten knock of 117 runs off 102 balls that consisted of 14 fours and 4 sixes while Krishmann scored 60 runs off 104 balls that included 7 fours.
Sanat Sangwan was named the Man of the Match for his exceptional century innings. Aditya Singh was adjudged as the Fighter of the Match for his crucial innings of 45 runs while Avinash David took home the Best Fielder title.
