In the ongoing Cricplex Kalinga Cup, the Cricket Gurukul registered a thrilling 1-wicket victory over the Cricplex Academy in a nail-biting encounter at the Cricplex Cricket Ground in Noida. While batting first, Cricplex Academy got bowled out for 117 runs as Uday took four wickets. In the second innings, Sachin scored a crucial knock of 46 runs off 30 balls.
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, the Cricplex Academy got off to a poor start losing the wicket of their opening batsman Monu quite early in the game. The pair of Sajal and Manish Tyagi also got out very soon leaving their team in deep trouble. The duo comprising of Nishant and Dinesh then got together to bail their team out of the troublesome situation.
Nishant scored 22 runs off 66 balls that included 3 fours before getting dismissed by Piyush Girdar. Dinesh played a fine innings of 49 runs off 47 balls that consisted of 5 fours and 3 sixes. The Cricket Gurukul’s bowler Uday Kundu bowled an amazing spell as the Cricplex Academy got bowled out for a paltry total of 117 runs in 30 overs. For Cricket Gurukul, Uday finished with excellent figures of 4 for 13 while Jitendra Pal also picked three crucial wickets.
In the second innings, the Cricket Gurukul team did not get off to the best of starts losing their top-order wickets very early. On the other hand, while defending a small target, the Cricplex Academy’s bowlers Anuj Chaprana and Dinesh bowled extremely well at the top to provide their team early breakthroughs. None of the top-order batters took responsibility of batting throughout the run-chase.
Sachin Chaudhary was the standout batsman for Cricket Gurukul as he played an exciting innings of 46 runs off just 30 balls that included 7 fours and 2 sixes. However, after his dismissal, Cricket Gurukul suffered yet another batting collapse as they lost wickets in clusters. Towards the end, Salman Khan remained unbeaten at 16 off 8 balls as he helped the Cricket Gurukul cross the finishing line in 20 overs. For the Cricplex Academy, Anuj finished with four wickets while Dinesh took three wickets.
