Sporting defeated Dharamveer 11 by 5 wickets in the ongoing Cricplex Kalinga Cup. While batting first, Dharamveer 11 got bowled out for just 92 runs courtesy Deepak Kumar’s four wickets and Sparsh Beniwal’s three-fer. Chirag Tyagi was 43 not out as Sporting chased down the target in just 12.1 overs.

After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, Dharamveer 11 got off to a horrendous start as they lost key wickets at the top quite early in the game. The first five batters got out with their score in single digits. Sanchit and Yash Joon did add some vital run lower down the order but the Dharamveer 11 never really recovered from the top-order batting collapse.

Sanchit and Yash scored 28 runs each before getting dismissed by Shivam Bhardwaj and Sparsh Beniwal respectively. Eventually, Dharamveer 11 was dismissed for a paltry total of 92 runs in 30.1 overs. For Sporting, Deepak Kumar took four wickets and Sparsh Beniwal picked three wickets.

In the second innings,  Sporting also lost few quick wickets at the top but opening batsman Chirag Tyagi looked really calm and composed at one end. For the Dharamveer 11, Prateek bowled a fabulous opening spell and he picked three crucial wickets to put the opposition under pressure. However, the pair of Chirag Tyagi and Ganesh Vashisht took the Sporting comfortably over the finishing line in just 12.1 overs.

Chirag Tyagi played a fine unbeaten knock of 43 runs off 42 balls that included 8 fours. Deepak Kumar was awarded the Man of the Match for his four wickets. Prateek was named the Fighter of the Match for his three-wicket spell and Naveen took home the Fielder of the Match title.
