RGCA registered a massive 196-run victory over the Spartan Boys in the ongoing exciting Cricplex Kalinga Cup. After batting first, RGCA posted 262/10 with Deep scoring a fantastic 95 runs. In the second innings, the Spartan Boys were bowled out for a paltry total of 66 runs in 20.3 overs.
After winning the toss and opting to bat first, RGCA started off things on a decent note with the two openers, Dhruvaa and Ram Raghuvansh Pandey adding crucial runs at the top. However, both the openers and Manish batting at three failed to convert their respective starts into a big innings and got out in quick succession. Deep came out at number four and showed immense application and great temperament to counter the opposition bowling.
Deep kept batting amazingly well at one end while wickets continued to tumble on the other side as a couple of batters once again failed to convert their starts. Deep remained unbeaten after playing a brilliant innings of 95 runs off 102 balls that included 9 fours and 1 six at one end while the RGCA got bowled out for a total of 262 runs in 43.3 overs. For the Spartan Boys, Manish Thakur picked four wickets and Nitin and Aniket finished with two wickets each.
In the second innings, the Spartan Boys failed to grab the momentum from the very start as they lost crucial wickets at the top. Barring Aniket’s 19-run knock and Manish Kumar’s 16, rest of the batters even failed to cross the single digit mark. None of the batsmen showed any responsibility to bat through the run-chase.
On the back of a collective bowling performance, RGCA rattled the Spartan Boys for a dismal total of 66 runs in 20.3 overs. For RGCA, Kartik and Hemant Kumar took four wickets each.
